Me (Maartje) has send a text message to Yakubu to inform him that we reached the target and he immediately texed me back:

'waahuuuu, this is great! Thank you and everyone who supported! I am very excited!'

I am excited too, it is so great that we reached the target within 24 hours, unbelievable!

But, we still need the last 20 euro to fully reach the target, so is the honoured one who will do this?

Thank you so much everyone for all your efforts, especially Fitzroy! The cavia race was hilaric and very excited.

I spoke with Yakubu on the phone today and he informed me that at this moment the staff is getting the material for the roof. Unfortunately the wood became much more expensive compare to originally budgetted.

There are no updated pictures of the building at this moment, since the camera is broken. But we will put them online soon!

Yakubu is very much please with the 24 hours action and thanks the 1%club and Fitzroy for this opportunity!

The kids are excited too! When the target is reached, we can continue the construction work, which is great!

It is great  and appreciative to you all for the suport you have given towards the realization of the Youth  Reource center in Ghana. There hs been much progress in the construction, Two summer hats has been provided.

I am happy t inform you that I am in Europe to promote the work of  CPYWD in the Netherlands and Germany.

 On the 30^th of March 2010, out of the cooperation between CPYWD, YSI and the Katariga community representing a cluster of communities, the foundation stone of the proposed Youth Resource Center (code named Discovery Center) was laid.

Dear all,

It is already a while ago since we have put an update online. Our partnerorganisation Youth Service Initaitive came to Ghana from the 27th of March till the 10th of April and it was a great succes. The team was very active and they together with the Community volunteers we have started with building the Youth Recreation Centre.
The aim was to finish 2 summer huts and the foundation of the centre and we have been able to achieve this!

For the rest I can also proudly inform you that a German CPYWD volunteer who came to us in December made a promotion video. She is a professional film maker and we are very proud of the result of the video. It gives an impression of the programs we have with the youth and of how we work.

many greetings from the CPYWD staff

Dear all,

I am very happy that our project is online. We have waited for this moment for long.

At this moment we are preparing ourselves to host our partnerorganization Youth Service Initiative. When Impulsis is willing to sponsor the Discovery Centre Project we can make a start with building the centre. Everyone in Ghana is excited about it, especially the youth. Via this project our youth will get their own space and have more opportunities to develop theirselves and to take initiatives. We involve the communities, school and Ghana Education Service in every phase of the project.

We are grateful to get funding from Holland for this project and I will do my best to write updates once in a while, even though the internet is very slow.

So on behalf of the beneficiaries, I thank you very much for supporting us.
